Prill Dissolution

The 4PGE is done by the lead collection of Fire Assay.

The prills masses obtained are the sum of the 4 PGM’s which are Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium and Gold. Should a customer want to know the quantity of the 4 metals, it can be done by prill dissolution procedure.

The prills are dissolved in aqua regia and the solution is washed with Hydrochloric Acid after which the solution is transferred to a volumetric flask and made up to volume.

This solution is read on the ICP to obtain the concentration of the 4 different elements.
